The original galley was closed off from the living room. Removing the partition gave the island somewhere to live, and gave the cook somewhere to look.

A media wall fabricated in our shop: linear fireplace, walnut counter, and floating shelves scribed to a wall that was not remotely straight.
The glass block stayed because the client liked the light. Everything else — the corner tub nobody used, the heavy wood vanities, the beige — did not.
